From Central Park to the White House, it’s about a 4-hour drive from New York, and the sea has some similar features. First, New York has great parks and an excellent community system, and it looks the same. It also has the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument, which make the city attractive for people who have government jobs or are moving to a new industry. That’s why people move to Washington from New York. Let’s move you to the US capital! Born To Move provides long-distance moving from NYC to DC. If you have a job in Washington, Born to Move is always ready to help you with your moving task.
Moving process
When you’re ready to move, all you have to do is request a quote. You’re probably looking at the quote. Born to Move provides a flat rate for long-distance moves from New York to Washington, DC. We charge a fixed rate that includes all expenses, such as the truck, transportation, mileage, and taxes. When you register on our company’s site, we’ll need to see your item list. After we assess your inventory, or when you send it to us via email, we can move forward with the process. After receiving your inventory, our moving representative will contact you to provide a quote for the move. The flat rate will depend on the number of items you’re moving and how quickly you need your delivery to DC. Our moving company will also provide insurance for your items. If you use the services provided by our moving company, you can get additional insurance as well.
On the moving day
Please expect our moving crew to arrive at your location at 9 am. Once our foreman is in the parking area, he will call you and provide you with an ETA for our arrival. Second, our movers will arrive at your place to assist with a list of items, and it will be the same as when you initially told us about how much stuff you need to move. If your inventory is the same as the amount you have, then we will begin moving. If there’s a small difference, such as 5-10 boxes, there will be no additional charge at a flat rate. But if there are significantly more items, there will also be an additional fee. The third step is that the guys will load the truck with your items, starting with boxes. Our movers from NYC to DC will prepare your furniture for the relocation by protecting each item with moving blankets. Our movers always wrap furniture in protective padding and dismantle your beds, tables, and couches to avoid damage. After we protect your furniture with moving blankets, we will move your furniture pieces to the truck. We’ll stack your furniture inside the vehicle and place your boxes in a way that will not break during the process of relocation. After we finish loading tasks, all we have to do is drive to the required destination.
Driving to DC
The regular drive from New York to Washington, DC takes about four hours. But if you’re driving a big moving truck, it takes a little more time, especially if you’re in New York City traffic or Washington, DC traffic, which is one of the worst in the country. It could take six hours to get from New York City to DC. That’s why we usually start driving around three o’clock in the morning. We’ll load your stuff, and then drive to DC the following day. So we can return to New York on the same day we complete the unloading of your belongings in DC. If you want to change this process, or if you want to move on the same day, that’s also possible. But first, you need to reserve an elevator, if available, or you might as well move on the same day from NY to DC if you don’t have an elevator.
How much does it cost to move from New York to Washington, DC?
- On average, moving a one-bedroom apartment from New York to Washington costs around $2,200.
- If you have a two- or three-bedroom apartment, the cost will increase accordingly, depending on the number of things you have to move.
- A two-bedroom apartment will typically cost around $2,000 and $3,000, and a three-bedroom will cost around $4,000.
Whatโs included in my moving price?
Everything is included in the moving rate, such as gas, tolls, mileage, packing materials, and taxes when you use the Born To Move services. We don’t know how much additional charge there will be unless you want to use our boxes or consider packing services. We can provide these options, but they will come with an additional fee and hourly rate for the move. When you hire the Born to Move professional, you’ll receive a flat rate. It will remain flat until the end of the trip, unless there is more inventory than originally anticipated. If there is significantly more stuff to move, the fee will increase.
Packing
Born To Move asks our customers to prepare the boxes before the movers arrive at their locations. This approach will save them time and money. Most customers do this task by packing up their kitchen, bedding, and clothes, which definitely saves some money. They can leave packing their furniture to long-distance moving companies, such as from New York to Washington, DC. If our customers want us to help pack their kitchen and breakable items, they should let our moving representative know, and we can arrange packing on the same day. Our customers just need to let us know ahead of time if they want us to do this task, as we will provide the boxes and packaging materials to collect all their fragile items.
Payment methods
Born To Move never requires a deposit when you are willing to book our New York to DC moving service. All you have to do is sign up, and you don’t have to pay any deposit on the moving day. Our movers will complete the loading perfectly well. You will have to pay half of your initial price to the foreman. Then you’ll have to pay the other half once we unload the stuff at your destination in DC.
Moving insurance
Moving insurance is the first thing that comes to mind when you think about it. If everything is going well, then you don’t have to worry. But what should you do if something gets damaged during the move? In this case, all moving companies have insurance that covers you for $60 per broken item. But that’s not enough if you want more coverage. Born To Move is here to help. All you need to do is tell our moving representative that you want to increase your insurance coverage, and we will do it for you for an additional fee that depends on how much stuff you want us to cover.
Licensing
Obviously, without insurance, you cannot get a license. This is the law issued by the United States Transportation Department. So all moving companies must provide insurance for their clients. We are a fully licensed and insured moving company with a Department of Transportation (USDOT) number of 288-7241 and the motor carrier (MC) number. We can operate legally outside of the state of New York and anywhere else in the country. You can rest assured that we have a BBB five-star rating and multiple reviews from other customers who have used our NYC-to-DC moving company.
