The whole moving process

Our moving process is very easy and straightforward. Once you get on the company’s website, you can just fill out a form that describes your move in detail. Our moving representative will call you to collect your list of items. After that, you will need to provide a date and time for delivery, as it will vary depending on the customer’s needs. If you agree on a flat price, then all you need to do is provide us with a green light and our moving representative will schedule the move. You will also need to pre-pack boxes and wait for the set pick-up date.

On the moving date

On the moving day, our process will go as follows: First, the LA to Chicago movers will call to let you know they are coming. The second time, you will receive another call when our team arrives at your pickup location. Then, the guys will wrap your furniture, protect it with blankets, dismantle it if necessary. They will load your stuff onto the truck. After the loading process is completed, you will need to provide 50% of the flat rate, which you can pay by certified check, credit card, or cash. Once the payment is made, our movers will drive the furniture to Chicago.

How long does it take to deliver my stuff to Chicago?

The distance between LA and Chicago is over 2,000 miles, which means we will get your stuff delivered in 30 hours. It will take three days to drive. So, let’s say La to Chicago movers will pick up your things on Monday. The delivery will happen on Friday. This is a legal limit for all moving companies from LA to Chicago, and none of the available moving providers will do this job faster. The delivery is impossible by law because all moving companies have to obey the Department of Transportation regulations.

On the delivery date

Once the moving company reaches its destination, you will need to tell the moving team where to park, and show them exactly where your things should be unloaded and unpacked. You will have to explain to our movers where you are going to put your couch, boxes with clothes, books, TV set, etc. Once you’ve shown them, the movers will bring all the items to their designated locations and reassemble the necessary items. Please direct the movers to the place where you want the boxes to be brought. If you label the boxes, they will know exactly where they need to put them. If there is any damage to your furniture after the movers have unpacked it, you can file a claim with our claims department. There will be no additional charges for damage. You will need to give the rest of the payment to Chicago movers.

Packing/unpacking

Are you packing up by yourself? If that’s the case, Born To Move can bring the boxes to you, so you can pack them. This is a necessary situation when you need to move your kitchen, your entire apartment, or any fragile furniture. Our movers will protect them with blankets. You don’t have to touch furniture at all. All you need to do is pre-pack boxes and put various things in them, such as kitchen items and bedding, and anything else that needs to be moved. It would be great if you could label the boxes. At the required destination, we’ll just put them in the room where they need to be placed in. So, you don’t have to show us where to put your boxes at the destination in Chicago. Our LA movers can also help with packing and preparing for your move on the moving date. You’ll need to provide more details in advance if you want us to partially pack or unpack your stuff at the destination. The unpacking of furniture is included in the price, but you’ll have to unpack your boxes by yourself.

Check reviews before hiring a moving company from LA to Chicago!

We encourage you to read testimonials and reviews of all the companies available before hiring a long-distance moving company in Los Angeles. All you need to do is check the Google and Yelp reviews to see what other customers say about the prices and services. This will help you make an informed decision. Born To Move may not be the best option for this or that reason, but movers from Los Angeles to Chicago work all over the US to provide our clients with excellent moving services. Our professional movers in Los Angeles are ready to address your moving needs.

How to avoid moving brokers?

When you’re on the phone with moving representatives, ask them if this company is a broker, or if they sell jobs directly to customers, or if they simply give them to third-party companies. Born To Move never acts as a broker, because brokers only book jobs and sell them to other moving companies without the customer’s knowledge. So, we strongly encourage you to research moving companies before hiring them. Check out reviews from friends or online reviews to see if the company has any negative feedback. If the selected moving company doesn’t have any online reviews, it’s likely not a moving provider, it is a broker.
